We first tried fried fish coated in store bought fish masala at a relative’s house. Beer and fried fish of any kind are always a hit! It wasn’t long after until I realized I could make Masala Fish Tacos, and they instantly became a hit in our house!

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5-10 minutes
1 lb of tilapia fish cut into 1 inch pieces
2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 medium red onion chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
In a bowl, mix the cut pieces of fish, garam masala, garlic powder, and salt. Once evenly mixed, then coat everything with the olive oil.
Heat enough oil to fry the fish in a deep frying pan to 250 degrees. Fry for approximately 4-5 minutes or until fish is white on the inside, tender, and breaks apart easily.
Wrap either corn or flour tortillas (we recommend corn) in a paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds until hot. Remove from paper towel and build each taco accordingly:
Spread mint chutney down the center of the tortilla and then top with the fried masala fish. Sprinkle chopped onions and cilantro on top. Squeeze fresh lime juice for added flavor.
